After the purchase of Cherry Audio’s Voltage Modular in April 2021, I missed some functionality in Voltage Modular. So I finally got into Java and module development now. Cherry Audio kindly gave us the Voltage Module Designer and so it was quite easy to step into it.
MIDI Controller Feedback Bundle
One of the first things I did after opening Voltage Modular the first time, was to MIDI map my Behringer BCR2000 to some of the performance controls (Perform) inside of this virtual modular system. I immediately realized a problem with VM’s internal MIDI mapping: It ignores the MIDI channel data, that are part of every MIDI Control Change message. Because of this circumstance, it is not possible to build up more complex MIDI controller setups, as I wanted to do in my case. Another thing is, it is not possible to send back parameter changes, that you made on MIDI mapped controls inside of VM, to hardware controllers which support parameter feedback, as the Behringer BCR2000 or X Touch Mini do. So I started to build 4 universal controller modules which add all the links to Voltage Modular and bundled them to my MIDI Controller Feedback Bundle.
You can get my MIDI Controller Feedback Bundle in the Cherry Audio Store.
